Interview with Tie The Knot Weddings

Today we have an interview with Tie The Knot Weddings-  wedding flower and event specialist.

TELL US A BIT ABOUT YOURSELF AND YOUR COMPANY?

Tie the knot wedding is a family run company for over 30 years and we are a mother/daughter team who specialise in wedding flowers and décor. Mary who is a real creative brain started selling a few plants and little arrangements many years back and over the years trained and grew the business to being one of Munster’s leading wedding suppliers. Danielle qualified in event management and started out working for Irelands largest event promoter, working with some of the worlds biggest music artists and also a stint as personal ASSISTANT TO Hollywood actress Cate Blanchett. She made the move closer to home to help run the business and now works closely with all the couples from their first phone call/mail until the morning of the big day!

WHATS YOUR FAVOURITE PART OF THE JOB?

Meeting new people and having the chats! It’s so lovely being part of a couples journey to their big day and it’s so rewarding when it all comes together and they are happy with everything.

WHATS YOUR FAVOURITE FLOWER/STYLE FOR WEDDING BOUQETS?

We love the soft, wild bohemian style of bouquet that is loose and unstructured. It’s so popular at the moment, that carefree, relaxed look. In terms of flowers there are too many to choose, it’s like picking your favourite child! 😉 We love the Lilac flower and of course the Peony and David Austin Rose, so exquisite. We are a huge fan of lots of different seasonal and locally grown foliage. Grey/Silver foliage is going to be really big this year.

WHATS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE YOU’VE SEEN COUPLES MAKE?

Thankfully we don’t see too many. I suppose the main thing really would be the couples taking on too much and planning to do it all themselves, particularly the week of the wedding. The day before the wedding should be as stress free as possible. You will need that time to do your last few jobs, enjoy getting your nails/ tan done and to have a few drinks and fun! Sometimes I have seen brides trying to finish off making a cake or trying to do some of the flowers themselves and they end up missing out. My advice would be hire the professional if you at all can, delegate and take the pressure off. X

WHAT TIPS OR ADVICE CAN YOU GIVE TO COUPLES WHO ARE ORDERING THEIR WEDDING FLOWERS?

As soon as you know who you want to work with get in touch and secure the date. Good suppliers are booked up fast. There is loads of time to pick out what you are going to have but the main thing is the date, especially if its summer or xmas, or other peak times. In terms of flowers, there is so much choice. We offer a lot of hired out options so it helps to reduce the cost while still getting the wow effect!

Also there is a price for everything. When shopping for quotes take into account the business reputation, years in business, previous client’s feedback, their portfolio and their actual skill. If something is very cheap there is usually a reason why. But the main thing would be to enjoy it all! Enjoy the planning as much as you can as the day goes so quickly and it’s the build up that really is  a huge part x

Thanks so much to Danielle from Tie the Knot Weddings for a great interview!
